**Role Responsibilities**:
- Operate various plant and equipment, including dozers, compactors, excavators, front end loaders, articulated dump trucks, and hook trucks.
- Conduct tasks efficiently and safely in landfill and transfer station operations.
- Perform pre-start checks, regular maintenance, and cleaning of plant and equipment.
- Report any equipment defects or damage promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maximize material diversion from landfill by recovering recyclable materials.
- Ensure efficient and safe access for customers and vehicles on site.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the site and facilities.
- Adhere to approved plans, schedules, council standards, and compliance requirements.
- Comply with safety requirements, including Job Safety Assessment and Safe Work Method Statements.
- Deliver high-quality work with a focus on exceptional customer service.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety policies and standards, utilizing provided personal safety equipment and clothing.
- Carry out additional duties as directed and deemed reasonable and appropriate.
**Role Requirements**:
- Extensive experience in a waste or resource recovery environment.
- Proficient knowledge of landfill operations, waste placement processes, and EPA compliance.
- High level of competence in operating and maintaining large earthmoving plant, including excavators (30-35 tonne), dozers (D6 equivalent and above), compactors, articulated dump trucks (30 tonne and above), and front-end loaders.
- Problem-solving skills combining practical experience and theoretical knowledge.
- Capability to provide on-the-job training for plant and earthmoving works.
- Strong time management skills to plan work effectively. Current Victorian Driver's license and Heavy Rigid (HR) license.
- Appropriate licenses and tickets for operating compactor, dozer, excavator, front end loader, articulated dump truck, and hook truck.
