We're looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy kitchen environment and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Adhere to all food safety standards and occupational health & safety regulations.
* Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
* Report directly to the Head Chef and communicate effectively with waitstaff before service.
* Prepare, season, and cook dishes according to recipes, using personal judgment and experience when required.
* Test and taste food to ensure quality and readiness before service.
* Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment.
* Portion, arrange, and garnish dishes for attractive presentation.
* Prepare and cook meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other menu items for both hot and cold service.
* Bake, roast, slow-cook, deep-fry, and grill foods as required.
* Prepare and present desserts.
* Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fruits and vegetables for service.
* Regulate and monitor cooking equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and sous-vide machines.
* Estimate food requirements, requisition supplies, and check deliveries for accuracy and quality.
* Demonstrate ability to learn and execute new menus as set by the Head Chef and Owners.
* Collaborate effectively with a team of chefs and cooks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
