About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver technical and field support across water resource projects (such as groundwater entitlement assessments and applications) and sectors (such as preliminary and detailed site investigations and beneficial reuse assessments).
This is a primarily work-from-home role, and the candidate will ideally live in regional Central Victoria (Benalla, Seymour, Bendigo or Shepparton and greater surrounds) and be able to visit sites across Victoria.
You will liaise closely with the Victorian-based Principal Hydrogeologists.Reporting to the Victorian Team Lead, your responsibilities will include: Managing, analysing, and presenting environmental data (groundwater, surface water, soil, recovery, etc.)
Conducting desktop research, background reviews, and technical guidance evaluations
Assisting with the preparation of reports, monitoring plans, environmental site assessments, and proposals
Providing technical expertise in groundwater flow, hydraulics, contaminated land assessment, and water management
Coordinating and implementing field programs, including drilling, monitoring well installations, pump tests, and water sampling
Supervising subcontractors during field activities
Managing projects and tasks, including scope, schedule, and budget planning About You
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: A degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, or environmental engineering (postgraduate in hydrogeology desirable)
Up to 5 years' relevant experience, including groundwater and soil sampling, groundwater well installation, and pumping test supervision (pumping test analysis desirable)
Understanding of Victorian environmental and resource regulations (developing knowledge acceptable)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power BI and database experience advantageous)
