The Role
The ABC's nightly current affairs flagship program, 7.30, is looking for an experienced producer to guide stories from initial stages to delivery.
The Job
* Reporting to the Executive Producer, this role will see responsible for;
Generating high quality news stories in innovative and visually striking ways as well as contributing to strong 7.30 journalism on digital platforms
Creating excellent long form current affairs stories that reflect the diverse communities of Australia
Producing top of the rundown, important, agenda setting stories and high quality content for the digital platforms.

About You
You are an energetic self-starter with a track record for breaking stories that have an impact on the national agenda, and a proven ability to tell those stories that hold the powerful to account.

If you also have the following capabilities, we would love to hear from you :
Solid writing investigative and story-telling skills that are relevant to Australia's diverse communities
A strong grasp of political, social and economic issues
Aptitude for producing sophisticated current affairs television-making
Resourcefulness and ability to work independently
Understanding of the 'back end' of longer form current affairs – for example, experience in field producing, video journalism, etc.
Extensive experience in a digital news environment
