Job Description
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing trauma-informed therapeutic care and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people who have experienced significant adversity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support children and young people in placement, with a focus on promoting their best interests, safety, and well-being.
* Foster a positive cultural identity within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, ensuring cultural safety and sensitivity.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with extended family and the local community.
Operational Role Responsibilities:
* Maintain a healthy, well-kept living environment that is clean and reflects a home environment.
* Promote healthy routines, meals, activities, and interests tailored to each resident.
* Contribute to the development of daily planners, attend appointments and meetings as requested.
* Promote positive relationships with family and friends where safe and appropriate.
* Complete mandatory reporting and daily agency reporting accurately and within timeframes.
Requirements:
* A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in youth work or a related field.
* A commitment to professional growth and developing therapeutic practice skills.
* The ability to embed therapeutic practices, routines, and responses tailored to each resident.
