School Officer - Assisting Student Learning (First Nations Education)
Location: Townsville, QLD
Salary: $***** - $***** per hour pending experience + Super
Commencement Date: as soon as practicable; term‐time position of 20 hours per week, continuing through to 4 December ****.
In this rewarding role, you'll nurture curiosity and a love of learning by providing hands‐on support in the classroom, assisting students to achieve their individual learning goals, and helping to create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning setting that values and respects First Nations histories, cultures, and perspectives.
With patience, empathy, and understanding, you'll build strong and trusting relationships with students, supporting their confidence, wellbeing and sense of belonging as they learn and grow.
Working closely with teachers and school staff, you'll help monitor student progress, celebrate achievements, and provide meaningful encouragement that empowers every learner to thrive.

Townsville Catholic Education has standards of conduct for workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government, and a working with children checks and background referencing for all staff.

Qualifications
* Paid Blue Card (prior to commencement).
* Successful undertaking of working with children checks and background referencing.
* Experience in supporting students, preferably in a school setting.
* A strong commitment to inclusive education and cultural responsiveness.
