We are offering an exciting opportunity for Senior Psychologist positions to fill various roles across primary and secondary state schools in the Metropolitan North region.

These positions are being offered at a 0.8FTE/60.80 hours per fortnight permanent position and 0.8FTE temporary position, until 18 September 2027, unless otherwise determined.

As part of the Student Wellbeing Workforce, we aim to ensure every Queensland state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school.

The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Workforce work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students. About The Role

This exciting opportunity as a Senior Psychologist within the Queensland Government's Student Wellbeing Workforce allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and school communities. You will play a key role in supporting students to thrive in their learning environments by delivering evidence-based psychology services. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with leadership and collaboration in a supportive, inclusive environment.

As a Senior Psychologist and a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will:
* Support children and students to access and fully participate in learning and experience success and wellbeing across all stages of learning by ensuring delivery of evidence‐based psychology services within schools in your region.
* Provide psychology services directly to schools in specific or specialised areas of psychology practice or in response to complex school needs.
* Provide professional supervision, leadership, and support to school psychologists within the region to develop their capability and clinical skills.
* Drive service improvement by evaluating procedures, providing expert advice, and contributing to evidence‐based practices.

The Senior Psychologist will report to the base school Principal for operational and administrative matters and to the regional Senior Advisor/s, Psychology for all professional practice and clinical matters.

Responsibilities Include
* Assess psychological requirements and identify appropriate responses and interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of students and/or undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions requiring specialised psychological practice with students, parents and families.
* Provide leadership, plan clinical supervision and provide professional development to psychologists in collaboration with regional and school management teams, to promote the delivery of safe, effective, high quality psychology services.
* Maintain effective communication and collaboration networks with other school‐based professionals including Guidance Officers, other relevant agencies and stakeholders such as other government departments and relevant professional bodies to ensure coordinated provision of services to students, parents and families (e.g., health, education, and welfare).
* Support delivery and continual improvement of psychology services in schools by reviewing policies, operational standards and procedures, evaluating service provision and programs and providing advice and recommendations to the Senior Advisor, Psychology about alternative models of delivery and resourcing.

* Clinical, reasoning and communication skills for working with young people, their families and stakeholders.
* Interest in supporting teams including other psychologists and mental health clinicians in leadership, clinical supervision and professional development.
