About the role
The Executive Director, Government Business leads proactive and effective engagement with the Department's Ministerial Offices, Parliament, Cabinet and central agencies. The role provides strategic advice, executive coordination and government business management to support the department's priorities and obligations.
About you
We are looking for a strong leader with a proven track record in providing government services expertise to a large and/or complex Agency. You will demonstrate a high level of accountability for service quality in resource constrained environments and be able to demonstrate your experience in driving considered decision making and strategic advice to the department and government.
As an experienced leader you will advise and support an executive team focused on driving improved ways of working to deliver meaningful and long‐lasting impact for the students of NSW. You will be highly collaborative, hands‐on, and disciplined about delivering outcomes for NSW Department of Education.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, management, social sciences or communications, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
* Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organisation, ideally in a government Agency.
As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC's validity (up to 5 years).
