Your main responsibilities:
* Assist with food preparation and cooking tasks across multiple kitchen sections.
* Support senior chefs during event pre-production, service and pack-down.
* Prepare ingredients to specification, including bulk prep for large-scale events.
* Plating and presentation to ensure consistency and quality during service.
* Follow recipes, portion controls and event timelines accurately.
* Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times.
* Assist with stock rotation, labelling and storage in line with food safety standards.
* Set up and break down kitchen stations for on-site and off-site events.
* Take direction from senior chefs and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop skills.
Your attributes:
* Eagerness to learn and further develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Calm and composed under pressure, particularly during large-scale or time-sensitive service
* Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality.
Your experience:
* Previous experience as a Commis Chef
* Must have completed culinary studies
* Previous experience working within events, catering or banqueting kitchens is an advantage
* Strong organisational skills with experience in pre-production, bulk preparation and event execution.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation across relevant sections.
* Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
* Experience with stock control, ordering and minimising food waste.
