Clisby Engineering specialises in the design, fabrication, sales and service of process and rotating equipment. Ozcon Engineering specialises in tubular products.
Clisby Engineering and Ozcon Engineering together provide a range of services and equipment required for the development of energy and mining infrastructure throughout Australia including hydrocarbon gathering and transmission networks, air and gas compressors, produced water filtration, air drying, and accessories.
Clisby Engineering, as the Employer, is seeking an Engineering Technician – CNC Programmer to support our teams. We are particularly looking for strong candidates who are passionate about quality deliverables and who want to develop their expertise to build a successful career.
About the position:
Located in our related company, Ozcon Engineering, in Danby, Queensland, the position involves CNC Programming and Operation, Quality Control and Inspection, and Documentation.
The duties include:
* programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines equipped with Fanuc and Fagor controllers, as well as performing inspections to ensure all machined components meet engineering and quality standards
* quality control and inspection
* calibrating measuring instruments, maintaining records, and supporting continuous improvement across machining and inspection processes.
About you:
* hold a post-secondary qualification in a relevant discipline and at least three years of relevant experience.
* competent in CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
* ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
* familiarity with SolidWorks software and CNC simulation tools.
* proven experience as a CNC Programmer, specifically with Fagor and Fanuc controllers.
* proficient in G-code and M-code programming languages.
* solid understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling selection.
* proven experience with CNC milling operations and programming.
* strong coding skills with a background in software or automation.
* excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* knowledge of quality control principles and practices.
* proficiency in dimensional inspection using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
* knowledge of calibration procedures and ISO or similar quality standards.
* high attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and process optimisation mindset.
* strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
* driver's licence
