About the Opportunity: The Gatekeepers of Quality

Quality Assurance is the heartbeat of a successful game studio. As part of our continued investment in emerging talent, this Screen Queensland–supported internship offers a rare, hands‐on immersion into an embedded QA, agile development environment.

Unlike external testing houses, our QA team is integrated directly with the developers. You won't just be "playing games"; you will be working alongside engineers, artists, and designers to identify risks, document defects, and verify fixes in real‐time. This program provides:

* Professional Mentorship: Learn the art of "breaking" games from industry veterans.
* AAA Tooling: Gain exposure to professional bug-tracking software (JIRA), version control, and proprietary testing frameworks.
* Career Trajectory: Build the technical capability and confidence required for a long‐term career in game production or specialized QA.

As an Intern QA Tester, you are a critical pillar of our production pipeline. Your mission is to support the quality and functionality of our premium titles. You will be responsible for executing rigorous test plans, performing regression testing, and documenting issues with enough clarity that a programmer can reproduce them instantly.

This role requires a unique mindset: you must be curious enough to wonder "what happens if I click this 100 times?" and disciplined enough to document the results every single time. You will learn the nuances of cross‐platform testing, ensuring that our games feel just as good on a console as they do on a mobile device or PC.

Key Responsibilities
* Test Plan Execution: Methodically follow and execute test plans for active studio projects, identifying defects and edge cases.
* Defect Documentation: Write clear, concise, and actionable bug reports. You will learn to include reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and relevant crash logs or screenshots.
* Agile Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to communicate issues effectively and participate in daily stand‐ups to discuss the current "state of the build."
* Database Management: Help maintain the Bug Database (JIRA), ensuring that critical‐path issues are prioritized and that resolved bugs are verified and closed.
* Cross‐Platform Coverage: Coordinate testing across various hardware configurations to ensure comprehensive coverage and platform‐specific compliance.
* Process Improvement: Actively contribute to the evolution of our QA processes. If you see a way to make a test more efficient, we want to hear it.
Candidate Qualifications

Gameloft Brisbane is looking for candidates who are naturally observant and possess a "perfectionist" streak when it comes to software performance.

* Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Games Development, Game Design, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Attention to Detail: An almost surgical eye for detail. You notice when a texture flickers, when audio de‐syncs by a millisecond, or when a menu button is two pixels off‐center.
* Analytical Thinking: The ability to look at a bug and hypothesize the root cause. You enjoy the "detective work" of finding where a system breaks.
* Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Your bug reports must be the gold standard of clarity.
* Gaming Passion: A deep understanding of gaming platforms and current industry trends. You should understand how games should feel.
* Residency: You must be a current resident of Queensland and be able to demonstrate this at the time of application.

Bonus Points:

* Technical Skills: Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
* Engine Knowledge: Basic understanding of Unity or Unreal Engine (how to navigate a build or use the console).
* Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python or other languages for automated testing is a plus, but not required.

* Interview: A discussion with the QA Lead and members of the production team to talk through your analytical process and communication style.
* Offer: Welcome to the Gameloft Brisbane team!
