About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our commercial team. You'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and delivering growth in the Mining sector. You'll collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager to deliver strong commercial outcomes. This is a strategic and hands-on role with scope to shape client partnerships, support tenders, and represent Envirolab at key industry events.
Responsibilities
* Lead Generation & Client Acquisition - Identify prospects, make contact via cold-calling, and convert new leads into active clients.
* Account Management - Manage client inquiries, quotes, and follow-ups. Build trusted relationships with top-tier and emerging clients.
* Strategy & Revenue Growth - Contribute to revenue strategies, oversee tender submissions, and present the Envirolab value proposition.
* Client Engagement - Conduct regular site visits and maintain a presence at industry events and conferences.
* Team Leadership - Mentor and coach sales representatives, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of commercial excellence.
* Process Improvement - Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, improve client service delivery, and contribute to business efficiency.
About You / Qualifications
* You'll thrive in this role if you are a confident communicator, results-oriented, and passionate about developing strategic partnerships.
* 3+ years' experience in business development or sales, preferably in a scientific or technical industry
* Bachelor's degree in Science, Business or a related field (preferred)
* Strong knowledge of CRM tools and reporting systems
* Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
* A collaborative approach and experience in mentoring junior team members
* The ability to travel interstate and attend events as needed
