The Role
We're looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Grower to join our growing team. This is a hands‐on, outdoor role where you'll bring specialist expertise in chemical and pest management, contribute to the health and quality of our plants, and support the broader team through knowledge sharing and collaborative planning.
You'll report directly to our Growing Manager and play a key role in keeping our nursery free from pests and disease while ensuring all chemical programs are applied and recorded in full compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards.
What You'll Be Doing
* Developing and implementing preventative and reactive spray plans
* Applying and managing herbicides, insecticides, and growth materials to maintain plant health
* Continuously monitoring for pests, disease, and other threats across the nursery
* Ensuring products meet spraying requirements for each state prior to dispatch
* Assisting to maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical storage compliance
* Participating in day‐to‐day nursery operations including watering, potting, and moving stock
* Supporting the learning and development of the wider growing team
* Participating in laboratory tasks (training provided)
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications in horticulture, science, or a related field (preferred)
* Previous experience in a nursery or horticultural environment
* Current Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP)
* Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one
* Solid knowledge of pests, diseases, and plant nutrition
* Strong understanding of chemical handling, storage, and compliance
