Why Your Role Matters
As Donation and Compliance Manager you will lead the operations that ensure every philanthropic contribution is managed with integrity, accuracy, and care. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, you'll oversee donor services across the University, ensuring philanthropic income is administered effectively, donor intent is honoured, and compliance obligations are met. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence and is key to enabling impactful philanthropic outcomes at UNSW.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high‐performing, donor‐centric Donor Services team.
* Oversee end‐to‐end donation administration including receipting, reconciliations, reporting, pledge management, and fund establishment.
* Ensure philanthropic income is managed in accordance with donor intent, university policy, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide expert advice on gift administration, donor agreements, compliance obligations, and complex donor matters.
* Build strong relationships across advancement, finance, scholarships, and academic teams to support effective fund administration and operational alignment.
* Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, reporting, governance, and service delivery.

You thrive in complex environments, enjoy solving problems, and bring a collaborative and service‐focused approach to your work. You are confident providing advice to a broad range of stakeholders and have a strong understanding of governance, operational controls, and delivering high‐quality administration in fast‐paced environments.
You'll Bring
* Relevant experience in donor services, advancement operations, compliance, or a related administrative field.
* Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering outcomes in high‐volume, deadline‐driven environments.
* Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and operational processes within complex organisations.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience using CRM systems and reporting tools such as Raiser's Edge or similar platforms.
* A strong focus on accuracy, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
Desirable
* Experience in higher education, fundraising, or not‐for‐profit environments.
* Familiarity with philanthropic gift administration or donor compliance frameworks.
