We are partnering with a fast-growing, data-driven insurance business to appoint an Actuary for 12 months. This is an opportunity to step into a commercially focused actuarial role with broad exposure across life, pet and general insurance products in both domestic and international markets.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Valuation, you will play a key role in supporting financial strategy through actuarial modelling, valuation, and business insights.
This role goes beyond traditional valuation work—offering exposure to commercial decision-making, advanced analytics, and cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and enhance embedded value models (EVMs) and forecasting frameworks
* Support experience investigations, budgeting, and financial reporting processes
* Build and maintain actuarial and statistical models (including GLMs, GBMs, and ML techniques) to improve business insights
* Deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders across the business
* Partner with product, finance, and analytics teams to integrate actuarial outputs into broader decision‐making
* Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
About You
* Actuarial qualification (AIAA or progressing) with a relevant quantitative degree
* 5+ years' experience in actuarial or analytics roles (life insurance experience beneficial but not essential)
* Strong modelling and analytical skills, with exposure to statistical or machine learning techniques
* Coding experience (Python, SQL or similar) and experience working with large datasets
* Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Background in a fast-paced, consulting or data-driven environment will be highly regarded
