Fortescue is driving one of the most ambitious industrial transformations in the world achieving Real Zero by 2030 by removing all Scope 1 and 2 terrestrial emissions from our Pilbara operations.
To realise this goal, we’re transforming how we partner with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to deliver the next generation of zero emission heavy mobile equipment (HME) and supporting infrastructure. Our partnerships with XCMG, Liebherr, Epiroc and MacLean are already delivering electric drills, graders, excavators, and autonomous battery-electric haul trucks.
As a HME Delivery Manager, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in this journey. You will have full authority for the delivery of high value OEM contracts, ensuring the successful delivery of capital projects that bring new HME fleets to site. This role sits at the intersection of commercial leadership, project delivery, and strategic stakeholder engagement where real impact meets tangible progress.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Integrated HME Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution and performance of assigned OEM and capital delivery projects ensuring alignment with Fortescue’s decarbonisation milestones.
- Provide strategic direction and program oversight across multiple delivery portfolios, integrating schedules, budgets, and resources to drive optimal outcomes.
- Act as Fortescue’s principal representative in all contractual matters, holding OEMs accountable for scope, safety, schedule, and cost performance.
- Maintain robust governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks to ensure transparency and compliance across all delivery programs.
- Drive OEM performance and value creation through structured KPIs, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with OEMs, project leaders, and internal stakeholders across Decarb, Asset Management, Operations, Autonomy and Procurement.
- Provide executive-level reporting to Steering Committees and leadership forums, translating complex delivery performance into actionable insights.
Qualifications and Experience
- A track record of delivering complex capital projects ideally involving OEMs, mining fleets, or large-scale industrial assets.
- 10+ years’ experience in senior commercial, procurement, or operational leadership roles within large-scale project environments.
- Proven success in managing high-value contracts and capital equipment delivery to site, preferably within mining, energy, or heavy industry.
- Strong capability in contract governance, negotiation, risk management and performance oversight.
- Demonstrated experience leading OEM partnerships or vendor relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder skills able to engage confidently at executive level.
- Relevant qualifications in Business, Engineering, Law, or related fields (MBA or postgraduate desirable).
