BERKELEY RIVER LODGE is one of the world's last true wilderness sanctuaries and Australia's most remote luxury lodge. The lodge has reopened after Cyclone Fina in November 2025 and we are looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team for the remainder of the season.
This is not your average maintenance role, this is a high-stakes, high-reward position in one of Australia's most stunning locations.

What we are looking for:
Responsibilities
* Mechanical troubleshooting; extensive experience maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet including trucks, 4WDs, buggies and heavy machinery
* Off-Grid system maintenance; oversight of complex power systems, specifically large-scale generators
* General lodge maintenance; plumbing and electrical oversight (hands-on approach is non-negotiable)
* Competent operation of front-end loaders, excavators and bob cats
* Leadership; the ability to lead a small team, manage maintenance schedules and keep morale high in a remote setting
* Agile thinking; the ability to 'think on your feet' and solve complex problems without immediate access to external parts or support
* Extreme motivation; someone who sees what needs doing before it happens
* Remote readiness; someone who will be comfortable living and working in a remote Kimberley environment; with understanding of the unique challenges of 'lodge life'
Qualifications
* Minimum experience in mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance across a diverse fleet (trucks, 4WDs, buggies, heavy machinery)
* Experience with off-grid power systems and large-scale generators
* Hands-on experience in plumbing and electrical oversight
* Ability to operate front-end loaders, excavators and bob cats
* Proven leadership skills to manage a small maintenance team and schedules in a remote setting
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently when external parts or support are not available
* High motivation and proactive work ethic; capable of anticipating needs
* Willingness and ability to live and work in a remote Kimberley environment
