About the Company
As a Software Engineer in a growing fintech/edtech company based in Southport on the Gold Coast, this role offers the chance to contribute to an ambitious product in a close-knit, creative team.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using Node.js
Develop and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to power game and platform features
Collaborate with the Unity team to ensure smooth backend-to-frontend integration
Design and manage database schemas (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) for performance and integrity
Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
Partner with front-end developers, designers, and product stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years commercial backend development experience
Required Skills
Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other modern databases
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment best practices
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills
Experience integrating backend services with Unity or other game engines
Passion for education, fintech, or building experiences for families and kids
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with Docker and containerisation
Pay range and compensation package
Salary negotiable depending on experience and capability.
