THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a rare chance to take ownership of the platforms that power one of Australia's most recognised digital brands. As Head of Platforms, you'll lead a talented, multidisciplinary technology team, drive the evolution of our core platforms, and shape the technology strategy that underpins our business growth.
You'll work closely with the CTO and senior leadership, influencing decisions at the highest level and playing a central role in Localsearch's digital transformation - including our AI strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Lead and inspire a high‐performing Platforms Development team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, mentorship, and innovation
* Ensure the reliable, secure, and optimised operation of Localsearch's core platforms to support business and client needs
* Drive DevOps practices, streamline deployment pipelines, and automate testing to enhance scalability and efficiency
* Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute technology and AI strategies aligned with business objectives
* Oversee quality assurance frameworks to ensure the delivery of high‐quality, robust software solutions
* Manage and evolve offshore relationships and hybrid engagement models to support IT capacity growth
* Build and enhance vendor relationships, evaluate emerging technologies, and lead due diligence on new platforms
* Ensure security, compliance, and data protection standards are upheld across all digital systems
* Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimisations to enhance user experience
WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU'LL BRING
We're looking for a technically grounded, commercially minded leader who can bridge strategy and execution. You'll bring:
Required
* Extensive experience in the technology sector with a focus on software development, CRM systems, payment gateways, or subscription engines
* Proven track record leading and developing multidisciplinary technology teams to achieve business outcomes
* Deep expertise in DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and digital product development
* Strong strategic thinking – the ability to develop technology roadmaps that align with and enable business growth
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‐technical stakeholders
* Hands‐on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and project delivery best practices
* Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements, and data protection practices
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have
* Certifications in Salesforce CRM, Zuora, or similar CRM/billing platforms
* Postgraduate qualifications in technology management or related disciplines
* Experience managing offshore or hybrid delivery models
