About the role
Red Cross Emergency Services aims to assist individuals and communities before, during and after an emergency or event, to cope with and manage the psychosocial impacts of emergencies.
In this position you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of targeted initiatives aimed at enhancing the resilience of individuals, households, and communities. This is in the form of our Get Emergency Redi Tasmania Project, presenting 300 EmergencyRedi Workshops Statewide until June 2027. This is a Federally funded project through the Disaster Ready Fund Round 2. Your work will increase sector knowledge and understanding of disaster impacts, preparedness, and the psychosocial needs of affected populations.
You will bring
* Sound knowledge and understanding of disaster resilience and community development principles
* Ability to coordinate and deliver training, workshops, and resources
* Advocacy and communication skills, with the ability to support stakeholder engagement
* Data recording and collection skills, with the ability to assist in using data to inform practice
* Ability to work under general direction from senior employees within clear objectives and budget constraints
* Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise own work
* Excellent volunteer engagement and coordination skills
