The sales representative position is to sell products and services over the phone or in person via walk-in clients to prospective customers and maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales.
Duties
Sell and deliver company products and services directly to customers.
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Achieve sales volume and revenue targets in line with the sales plan.
Present, promote, and sell products and services to existing and prospective customers using clear and persuasive product knowledge.
Conduct cost-benefit and customer needs analysis to recommend suitable products and services.
Establish, develop, and maintain positive relationships with customers and business partners.
Follow up customer leads and conduct cold calls to generate new sales opportunities.
Respond to customer enquiries, issues, and complaints promptly to maximise customer satisfaction.
Coordinate sales activities with team members and other departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
Complete general administrative duties, including customer records, sales reports, orders, and follow-up documentation.
Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to support continuous improvement.
Continuously improve sales performance through feedback, training, and self-development.
Requirements
Valid and unrestricted Australian Driver Licence, with willingness to travel as required to meet customers and develop new business opportunities.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in sales and customer service, preferably within the food industry, including meat, food processing, wholesale, or food distribution sectors.
Proven sales performance, with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, supported by excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong customer relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers and provide effective solutions to customer needs.
Excellent organizational and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with a professional and proactive approach.
Desirable
Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and customer requirements within the food industry is highly regarded.
