Job Title: Emergency Response Specialist
About the Role:
Australian Red Cross is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of volunteers in Emergency Services. As an Emergency Response Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting communities before, during, and after emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
This position involves working as part of a large network of locally based teams, engaging in preparedness, response, and recovery activities. You will have opportunities to develop skills that allow you to provide psychosocial support, training programs, and community development services in your own communities and beyond.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must be open to working with all members of the community, sometimes during very challenging times. You should have strong interpersonal, listening, and highly developed communication skills. You must also be able to communicate in a respectful, sensitive, and supportive way.

You will receive fully funded Medical First Aid training once you've completed your emergency services training. Our work spreads far and wide, including supporting communities, groups, and individuals to prepare for emergencies, as well as assisting with response and disaster recovery.
Training and Support:
We will ensure you have training, ongoing support, and access to other opportunities within Queensland Emergency Services. This includes completion of mandatory e-learning modules and participation in community events, meetings, administration support, trainings, and facilitation.

Application Requirements:
You will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Australian Red Cross. The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check. Australian Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check.
