Job Summary
Highflow Connections Pty Ltd is a leading provider of NBN installation, repair, and maintenance services located in Hurstville, NSW.
We are seeking a Telecommunications Cable Jointer. In this role you will join, terminate, and repair copper and fibre optic cables to keep networks operational and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
* Join, terminate, and repair copper and fibre optic telecommunications cables.
* Attach wires and cables to appliances and telecommunications devices.
* Test and troubleshoot equipment using electronic instruments to identify faults.
* Adjust, replace, and repair defective items to ensure network reliability.
* Seal cable sheaths using lead and thermoplastic materials to protect against environmental factors.
* Install and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables for telecommunication networks.
* Erect and test support structures for overhead cable installations.
* Perform regular inspections and maintenance of telecommunications systems to prevent outages.
* Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and client specifications.
* Assist in the installation of telecommunications equipment, including modems and routers.
* Document work activities, including repairs and installations, for reporting and record-keeping.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* A Certificate IV in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent qualification.
* At least one year experience in telecommunications cable jointing or a related field.
Skills Required
* Strong technical and diagnostic skills in telecommunications systems.
* Familiarity with copper and fibre optic cables, including jointing and termination techniques.
* Strong understanding of industry standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
* Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
* Proficiency in using cable jointing and termination tools and equipment.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities to address network issues effectively.
* Effective communication skills for liaising with team members and clients.
