Job Title: Guidance Counsellor - Student Wellbeing and Learning
About the role:
* Foster a positive learning environment for students by providing guidance, support, and resources to enhance their academic, personal, and social development.
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to identify student needs and develop strategies to address them.
* Provide individual and group counselling sessions to help students navigate challenges, build resilience, and achieve their goals.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
* Stay up-to-date with best practices in guidance counselling and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement guidance programmes that promote student wellbeing, academic achievement, and social-emotional growth.
* Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver lesson plans that integrate guidance principles and promote student engagement.
* Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
* Provide support and referrals to students, families, and community agencies as needed.
* Participate in school-wide initiatives and events to promote student wellbeing and engagement.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in School Guidance and Counselling or related field.
* Experience working with children and adolescents in a guidance counselling capacity.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
* Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
