About the Role
As an Exploration Geologist in the Nymagee District, you will play a key role in increasing resources and knowledge of the Federation and historic Nymagee Mines and discovering ore bodies across the highly prospective Nymagee District. This is a hands‐on, field‐based opportunity to contribute to both in‐mine and near‐mine resource extension and regional discovery exploration (brownfields and greenfields). You will design drill and soil programs, coordinate field activities and contractors, interpret results and produce technical reports.
You will work closely with the Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager, while being trusted to operate independently and self‐sufficiently. The role requires strong commitment to safety, inclusion and respectful workplace behaviours.
Location: Nymagee, NSW
Roster: 8/6 or 12 hours per day (Day shift only)
Travel Options: Residential, DIDO, FIFO
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Geoscience (or equivalent)
* 35 years experience in mineral exploration (base metals and/or gold)
* Experience with geophysical and/or geochemical programs
* Working knowledge of NSW mining legislation / permitting and land access processes
* Strong capability in geological logging, sampling, QAQC, geological mapping and interpretation
* Experience supporting drilling programs (Auger, Aircore, RC or Diamond), including field execution
* Competent using modern 2D/3D geological software for planning and target generation (QGIS and Leapfrog)
* Current, unencumbered C Class Drivers Licence
* Ability to work independently in the field
