About the Role
The Adviser Site Contamination is a trusted member of the Site Contamination Branch at the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).
The Adviser is an experienced site contamination professional who works with limited direction and who is able to mentor other staff.

The Adviser is responsible for the provision of professional advice in relation to site contamination. The Adviser is also responsible for the regulation, administration and enforcement of the site contamination provisions of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (the EP Act).
To be successful in this role, you will have :
* Well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to provide concise technical reports / information to a range of stakeholders.
* Well-developed oral communication skills to convey complex information to a range of stakeholders.
* Proven ability to show initiative, determination and drive and to work with limited professional direction.
* Proven ability to work as an effective member of a team.
* Proven experience and expertise in the assessment of contaminated soil, soil vapour and groundwater.
* Proven experience in undertaking remediation and management of site contamination.
* Proven experience in the authoring and / or technical review of reports in relation to site contamination.
* Well-developed knowledge of the site contamination legislation for South Australia.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience
* Bachelor degree in science, engineering or other recognised degree level qualification that is related to site contamination.
Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience
* Post-graduate education in engineering, environmental, science or discipline related to site contamination, ecology, hydrogeology or toxicology.
* Certified site contamination practitioner.
Remuneration :
PO2 ($88, 255 - $97, 667) + 12% super added to your choice of super fund.
Contract
Ongoing contract and full time (37.5 hours per week).
Special Conditions
* This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential.
* The incumbent will occasionally be required to travel to sites in country areas and interstate.
* The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
* A current driver's licence is essential.
* Must be able to become an Authorised Officer under the Environment Protection Act 1993.
