MyCDP support the Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) program as well as other community-based programs servicing Ngukurr, Numbulwar, Minyerri, Jilkmingan and Mataranka in the NT, we are seeking to engage two full time Senior Employment Consultants to join our highly performing and motivated team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
The role is a hybrid role which will be based in Katherine, working from your home office but will be required to travel out to the communities on a regular basis.
The position of Senior Employment Consultant will work closely with Employment Consultants, Site Manager and the Operations Manager to support jobseekers build work ready skills by participating in activities that contribute to the strength and sustainability of the community.
The main objective being transition job seekers into paid employment.
The successful candidate needs to have knowledge and experience working within remote indigenous communities.
Your duties will include:
Ensure that Employment Consultants are providing an individual and tailored servicing to jobseekers on the RAES caseload, supporting them to become job ready for work through engagement in community projects and participation options.
Ensure that a service is provided to all clients in a timely and professional manner.
Work with Employment Consultants to prepare job plans compliant with job seeker requirements and contractual obligations.
Ability to step in and support the tasks of the employment consultants when required.
Visit each site on a regular basis and review current practices to identify and recommend improvement.
Act as a relief manager when required and where necessary depending on the site.
Work with the Site Managers to build a high-performance team by motivating and generating enthusiasm for innovation, exceeding targets, and providing exceptional delivery of services.
Mentor, coach, and develop talent to increase business performance and outcomes.
Foster a supportive and cooperative work environment that recognises and rewards achievement.
Effectively acknowledge and address employee concerns as they arise, including taking action in the form of performance management or discipline where required, with the guidance from HR support services.
Proactively report and brief the Site Manager and the Operations Manager on emerging issues or potential risks to the business.
Respond in a timely and accurate manner to enquiries, correspondence and reporting needs Site Manager, Operations Manager, Chief Executive Officer, and government agencies and other functions / operations within the business.
Preparation & delivery of reports to the Operations Manager – including accurate process and regional activity/case management/employment status reports.
To be considered for this role, you will meet the following criteria:
Excellent knowledge of Indigenous culture and protocols with the ability to communicate and engage Indigenous communities effectively, including providing translation and learning support.
Willingness to learn and support local people in gaining sustainable outcomes.
Driver's License and relevant Child Suitability Card or ability to get one.
Previous employment services experience and working in remote communities.
Knowledge of the RAES program with the ability to understand and apply contractual requirements as required.
Able to maintain workload and operational needs through prioritizing and planning.
Technology literate including sound skills in using Windows based software, Internet, Email.
Significant understanding of the complexity of working with government departments.
Skills and/or qualifications in Business Management or other relevant disciplines which are complementary to the position.
