We currently have an immediate requirement for an Engineer with an Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar background to support rolling stock upgrade, integration, reliability, and improvement projects within a major rail company. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of electrical and electronic systems supporting fleet performance, safety, and operational reliability.
This is a contract role working as a key member of the Engineering team that supports all Rolling Stock project works within the business. The role is a good mix of hands‐on and process/documentation related activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Support system design, implementation, upgrade, and testing activities whilst ensuring adherence to applicable processes, standards and best practices
* Develop technical reports/documentation and engineering artefacts (e.g. Engineering Changes, Installation/Testing Procedures/Reports, Investigation Reports etc.)
* Provide technical support, advise, and guidance to internal teams
* Support inputs to Risk Assessments, FEA, FMECAs, FTAs etc.
* Support with identifying and rectifying issues relating to modified/upgraded systems
* Liaise with suppliers, maintainers, operators, and engineering stakeholders to support delivery
Skills and Requirements
* Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related discipline
* Good understanding of rolling stock systems, particularly braking and traction
* Technical competence with electronic, electrical, and/or control systems
* Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to develop, update, and review technical documentation
