Ocius Technology, an Australian company specializing in cutting-edge technology and Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs), has dedicated itself to harnessing the power of Wind, Solar and Wave energy to collect vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.
We are under contracts with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) as well as operating internationally. As part of our ambitious program to build and deploy multiple USVs around Australia and beyond, we require a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to maintain and enhance our Security across different networks and infrastructures.
About the Role
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for continually developing and monitoring our infrastructure as we increase our operational capability and capacity. This role is instrumental in ensuring the IT Services team can manage our Security, IT Hardware, Software and Networks to remain operational on and off water.
A typical day as a Cyber Security Engineer could include:
* Monitoring and analysing security events
* Developing, reviewing and maintaining security policies, standards, and operational procedures
* Support compliance activities to meet ISO 27001, E8, and DISP requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
* Strong understanding of network security architecture, identity and access management, encryption, and secure protocols.
* Knowledge of security standards and frameworks including ISO 27001, E8 and DISP.
* Ability to assess and manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
* Ability to automate security controls and configuration management in cloud and hybrid environments to enhance consistency, scalability, and compliance.
* Demonstrated experience with cyber security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
