This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and results-driven professional to take the next step in their business development career. As a Business Development Executive at The Market Link, you'll be at the forefront of client acquisition and relationship management — connecting directly with ASX-listed companies and playing a key role in driving revenue growth across our client portfolio.

You'll work closely with our Director of Capital Markets to manage the sales pipeline, identify strategic opportunities, and nurture relationships that support our continued expansion within Australia's capital markets.

In your day to day, you will:

1. Identify and engage with ASX-listed and pre-IPO companies, building relationships with key decision-makers.
2. Manage prospect interactions from initial contact through to proposal stage.
3. Collaborate with internal marketing and client service teams to create tailored solutions for client needs.
4. Maintain and manage your own pipeline in the CRM, tracking activity and progress to meet quarterly sales targets.
5. Represent The Market Link at industry events, conferences and meetings, promoting our services and building brand visibility.
6. Support our Head of Growth in preparing and presenting tailored proposals and reports.

About the role

As a Business Development Executive, you'll take ownership of building and managing your own client pipeline. You will play a central role in identifying, engaging, and converting prospective clients — predominantly ASX-listed and pre-IPO companies — while supporting our Director of Capital Markets with high-value opportunities.

This mid-level position is ideal for someone with previous sales or business development experience who is ready to step up into a more strategic, client-facing role within Australia's capital markets and digital marketing landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead generation and prospecting: Identify, research, and engage with potential clients to generate qualified leads and new business opportunities.
* Client engagement: Manage initial discovery calls, uncover business needs, and align The Market Link's solutions to client objectives.
* Pipeline management: Maintain accurate data and reporting within the CRM, tracking progress and ensuring all leads are followed through effectively.
* Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, client services, and business development teams to develop tailored proposals and client strategies.
* Proposal development: Assist with preparing client presentations, proposals, and campaign briefs, ensuring a professional and persuasive approach.
* Event participation: Represent The Market Link at meetings, events, and conferences to promote services and strengthen brand presence.
* Reporting: Provide updates on sales activity, performance metrics, and market insights to the Director of capital markets.

About you

You're commercially minded, confident in client-facing interactions, and passionate about business growth. You've already had some exposure to sales or client development — perhaps as a BDA or in a similar role — and are ready to step up into a position with more autonomy, ownership and direct client contact.

You have:

* 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or client relationship management (preferably within finance, marketing, or technology).
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
* A proactive, strategic mindset with a drive to uncover new opportunities.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
* Confidence using CRM systems and data to guide decisions and track performance.
* A keen interest in capital markets, finance, and digital communications.
