About the Role
You will manage the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Tamar Valley Power Station generation assets across CCGT, OCGT and Balance of Plant systems. Working on a 24/7 roster, you'll support plant performance, mentor team members and help deliver reliable energy for Tasmania as part of Hydro Tasmania's broader asset fleet, with the role based at AETV's Tamar Valley operations.
Salary: $103,846 – $127,382 plus role‐specific allowance and super.

Key Responsibilities
* Operate and optimise CCGT, OCGT, HRSG, WTP and steam turbine systems.
* Maintain safe and reliable plant operations on a rotating 24/7 roster.
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on critical assets.
* Diagnose faults and implement effective technical solutions.
* Coordinate contractors and monitor WHS compliance.
* Prepare operational logs, reports and technical documentation.
* Support and mentor team members to strengthen operational capability.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in thermal power generation and gas turbine operations.
* Turbine and boiler operator competency, including HV switching and generator control.
* Certificate IV ESI (Generation).
* Confined space, gas testing, first aid and LV rescue certification.
* Trade qualification in electrical, instrumentation or mechanical disciplines, with leadership, hazardous area or restricted electrical/gas licences and high‐risk work licences (Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights) highly regarded.

The Tamar Valley Power Station was originally commissioned by Aurora Energy in and acquired by AETV Pty Ltd (AETV) in June as a subsidiary company of Hydro Tasmania. The 386MW station comprises 208MW of Combined Cycle Gas generation (CCGT) and 178MW of Open Cycle Gas generation (OCGT).
