We are seeking an experienced Arborist / Tree Care Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a livable community by undertaking operational arboricultural activities across the council's diverse public tree population.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the Vegetation Operations team to deliver tree services and ensure the planting schedule is delivered on time.
* Conduct tree removals across the LGA while ensuring safe working conditions and adhering to all essential Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* AQF Level 3 (Certificate III) in horticulture or arboriculture or equivalent significant recent industry experience.
* A current class MR driver's licence.
* Recent experience delivering a variety of arboriculture/horticulture practices, including tree pruning and removal techniques.
* Highly developed communication skills and a proactive, positive professional attitude.
* A working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Safe Work NSW Code of Practice – Amenity Tree Industry Standards.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* A National Licence to Perform High Risk Work (WP + Boom type elevated work platform).
