We are a growing Pilbara-based business providing equipment hire, workshop and site services to the mining, industrial and construction sectors.
We are seeking a motivated and hands‐on Operations Coordinator to support the day‐to‐day operations of our Karratha facility and assist with the continued growth and improvement of our business.
This position is ideally suited to a Karratha‐based resident looking for regular weekday hours and a varied role that combines operational coordination, people leadership, customer service and practical problem‐solving.

About the Role
As the Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating workshop and yard operations, supporting and mentoring staff, managing parts procurement and inventory, overseeing incoming and outgoing equipment and materials, and building strong relationships with customers throughout the Pilbara.
You will work closely with management to ensure the branch operates efficiently, maintains high service standards and continues to improve its systems, processes, and overall performance.
This is a diverse, hands‐on role that combines operational coordination, inventory and procurement management, customer service, reporting and continuous improvement responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Team Coordination
Coordinate the day‐to‐day operations of the workshop and yard.
Support, mentor and assist workshop and yard personnel to achieve safe and productive outcomes.
Identify training requirements and assist with the ongoing development of employees.
Assist with scheduling, resource allocation and operational planning.
Monitor workflow and support efficient utilisation of labour and equipment.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of employee timesheets, job cards and operational reporting requirements.
Maintain a safe, organised and productive work environment.
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of company systems, processes and procedures.
Assist management with operational planning and improvement initiatives.
Operational Reporting & Cost Control
Assist with monitoring and reporting on key operational and financial performance indicators.
Support the business through effective cost control and operational efficiency initiatives.
Monitor Repair & Maintenance (R&M) expenditure and assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs.
Ensure labour, parts and external costs are accurately captured and allocated.
Provide operational information and reporting to support monthly business reviews.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, service delivery and operational performance.
Yard & Logistics Management
Manage incoming and outgoing equipment, freight and materials.
Coordinate equipment dispatch, receivals and mobilisation requirements.
Maintain accurate records of equipment and inventory movements.
Ensure yard presentation and organisation is maintained to a high standard.
Coordinate logistics activities to support operational and customer requirements.
Interpret parts requirements from workshop jobs, service reports and customer requests.
Source and purchase parts, consumables and operational supplies.
Obtain supplier quotations and manage purchasing activities.
Monitor stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy.
Coordinate freight and logistics for parts and equipment.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and cost control.
Assist with maintaining purchasing records and inventory reporting.
Customer Relations & Business Development
Liaise with customers regarding service requirements and operational support.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
Identify opportunities to expand services and generate new business.
Assist with quotations and customer proposals.
Represent the company professionally within the local market and wider Pilbara region.
Support the delivery of exceptional customer service and client satisfaction outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience in operations, workshop, logistics, maintenance or supervisory roles.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience managing staff and coordinating daily workloads.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, support and develop team members.
Experience in parts interpretation, procurement and inventory management.
Strong organisational and problem‐solving abilities.
Experience managing timesheets, job cards and operational reporting.
Understanding of operational cost control and maintenance expenditure.
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Customer‐focused approach with the ability to build lasting business relationships.
Proficiency with inventory, purchasing, maintenance management or ERP systems.
Strong computer and administrative skills.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Highly Regarded
Experience within mining, industrial services, equipment hire, transport, fabrication or mechanical industries.
Experience working with operational budgets, maintenance costs and cost control measures.
Understanding of labour utilisation, workshop productivity and asset management.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic or industrial equipment and components.
Experience implementing or improving business systems, reporting processes and operational procedures.
Existing relationships within the Pilbara business community.
