This is a newly created position as our General Manager is going on maternity leave in August, and we need someone who will take on some of her responsibilities. Given this is a goal-based and long‐term delivery role, we want to add this position on a full‐time basis. The remainder of her position will be covered by some of our company partners (accounting, business strategy and HR).
The Role
You will be the glue that holds our operations together and the engine that drives our profitability. Your focus will span financial oversight, team leadership and operational excellence. You will work very closely on the below with our General Manager, Managing Director and partners.
Financial & Commercial Oversight
* Profitability & Growth Management: Review our cash flow forecast and financial year targets and work with our execution team to make sure we are on track.
* Financial Partnership: Work closely with the bookkeeper and group accountant on wage processing, leave management, commission and profit share payments and commercial decision‐making.
* Strategic Spending: Monitor our expenses, identifying when to maintain and when to invest for growth.
Operational Leadership & Systems
* Workflow Excellence: Manage Accelo, our project management and operations platform, to ensure work is logged, value is delivered, and the team is optimised.
* Process Improvement: Drive documentation and ISO management (alongside the Technical Operations Manager) to ensure we are getting better every day.
* Cross‐Department Synergy: Bridging the gap between the Production team (project completion) and the Digital team (onboarding and retention).
People, Culture & Recruitment Assistance
* Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment using Predictive Index (we can teach you!) to find the right fit for our evolving team.
* Performance & Growth: Manage HR issues (if any), drive staff morale and implement training schedules with department heads.
* Conflict Resolution: Act as a final point of resolution internally or externally.
Internal Communication Strategy
* Be a Key Voice: Hold board, leadership and internal meetings to communicate the "why" behind business decisions.
We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 3+ years of experience in an Operations Manager position. Experience in a Marketing Agency environment is highly advantageous, but we prioritise leadership capability and cultural fit above all else.
