**Who we are**
The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) is part of the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. As primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program (AAP), the AAD is responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals.
These goals are to:
- maintain the Antarctic Treaty System and enhance Australia's influence within it
- protect the Antarctic environment
- understand the role of Antarctica in the global climate system
- undertake scientific work of practical, economic and national significance.
The AAD also has responsibility for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.
The Assets and Technology (A&T;) Branch provides and maintains the equipment and infrastructure to support the AAP. A&T; Branch activities range from the maintenance of existing Antarctic stations and equipment through to the design, manufacture, testing, operation and procurement of advanced scientific equipment and systems. The Branch manages major infrastructure projects in support of AAP outcomes.
The Infrastructure Delivery Section is a key element of the A&T; Branch and is responsible for the construction of the built infrastructure at Australia's Antarctic and sub-Antarctic stations. The section carries out construction activities at the Antarctic and sub Antarctic stations and a project management group at the AAD's head office in Kingston, Tasmania. It works closely with other sections within the branch to support the design, operation and maintenance of all station infrastructure.
**The Job**
The Logistics Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for the planning, development and administration of integrated logistic & civil design (site establishment) for Planning, Design & Constructions Phases of Major Infrastructure projects. The position will be required to work in a agile environment with a multi-disciple team. The role is required to be responsive to changing project and organisational demands. Working in conjunction with and reporting to the Project Lead, this position will work closely with the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) Operations Branch, Environmental & Construction Sections to deliver the operational, logístical and site establishment components of the Planning, Design & Construction Phases of Major Infrastructure projects. This position requires an individual with good interpersonal skills, who is well organised and flexible with high level coordination skills, and the ability to produce work at the required level, often in tight timeframes

**Knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated experience in logistics or operational management and movement of equipment, materials and people.
- Demonstrated experience in site establishment for complex and remote construction projects.
- Be responsible for the development of project operations, logistics and site management plans.
- Support the development and maintain logistic management plans and schedules for infrastructure projects.
- Ability to consider environmental considerations, construction sequencing, off site manufacturing, operations, program, procurement strategy and risk profiles.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of Logistic and Operation reports and documentation.
- Assist in the creation of Environmental & Site Management Plans through to practical delivery for complex and remote construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience across a wide range of projects that demonstrates the capability to successfully undertake the position.

- Support the planning and execution of the Project field activities in conjunction with other Project team members.

- Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with influence with senior executives and technical stakeholders.
- Leadership, resilience and adaptability to change and proven ability to work independently and effectively in small teams to meet regulatory or project deadlines.
