Centre Director - Joey’s Pouch Early Years Educational and Preschool Centre Inc.
Location: Murwillumbah, NSW
Are you passionate about early childhood education and making a positive impact on young children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Centre Director for a small, 39 place, not for profit, community run childcare facility in Murwillumbah, NSW. As the Centre Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our centre and providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children under our care.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management: Oversee the overall management of the childcare facility, including supervising staff, maintaining compliance with regulations, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
2. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula and educational programs that align with best practices and promote the holistic development of children.
3. Childcare Administration: Manage the day-to-day administrative tasks of the centre, including enrolment, parent/guardian communication, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Staff Development: Provide guidance, support and professional development opportunities for the teaching staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
5. Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, staff and visitors by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, implementing safety protocols and conducting regular risk assessments.
6. Parent/Guardians and Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication, regular updates and organising parent/guardian involvement activities. Communicate effectively and collaboratively with the committee on the day to day operation of the centre and its staff.
7. Financial Management: Monitor and manage the centre's budget, including revenue and expenses, to ensure financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or ECT
· Experience developing, implementing and evaluating programs using the EYLF and National Quality Framework
· Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood education principles, best practices, and relevant regulations.
· Strong leadership and managerial skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with children, staff, parents/guardians, and the wider community.
· Knowledge of financial management principles and experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
· Familiarity with health and safety regulations and a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for children.
· Current First Aid and asthma and anaphylaxis certificates
· Familiarity with relevant computer applications and record-keeping systems.
