Fixed term - until 26/06/2026
Location - Rockhampton
In this role you will respond to the complex needs of individuals and /or families through the provision of clinical counselling, therapeutic or psychosocial group work and case management approaches for clients affected by substance use and other related concerns such as mental health.
Key responsibilities:
This role provided Client Therapy and Support (both in office and outreach) by:
* providing comprehensive drug and alcohol and mental health assessments
* collaborative development of treatment plans working towards the achievement of client identified goals
* providing clinical counselling utilising evidence based therapeutic modalities and strength based practice
* providing harm reduction and relapse prevention in accordance with evidence-based practice and appropriate clinical care standards
* facilitating or co-facilitating psychosocial education and support groups
What we're looking for
Someone who is passionate about their work and the health outcomes of both clients and the broader community and can demonstrate:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Eligible for professional registration with a relevant professional association. Suitable professional associations are:
* Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW);
* Australian Psychological Society (APS) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
* Australian Counselling Association (ACA);
* Queensland Counsellors Association (QCA); and/or
* Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia PACFA}.
* Relevant qualification in Psychology, Social Work or other related discipline – post graduate qualifications preferred
* Ability to engage and work with vulnerable and complex individuals and/or families affected by substance use and other related concerns
* You are an ally of the AOD community or have lived or living experience of substance use, as well as experience working with marginalised and disadvantaged populations
* Intermediate competency in the use of Microsoft packages
* Current Queensland driver's licence (or equivalent)
* Available to work between the hours of 8:30am - 7:00pm, Monday-Friday
