Job Summary
STP Registrar position – Victorian Transcultural Mental Health/Foundation House (The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture)/St Vincent's Mental Health. Hours: 1.0 EFT (43hrs). Duration of appointment: Feb 2027 – Feb 2028. Classification: HM26 – 30. Location: Brunswick.
About the Role
This position involves assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health issues affecting the diverse communities at Foundation House. The registrar will be expected to provide psychological interventions for presentations related to trauma (under supervision) as well as general psychiatric care in an outpatient setting at Foundation House. The registrar will also assist with educational, service development, and consultation services offered by VTMH.
Responsibilities
* Assessment and treatment of mental health issues in diverse communities.
* Provide psychological interventions for trauma presentations under supervision.
* General psychiatric care in outpatient setting.
* Assist with educational, service development and consultation services offered by VTMH.
* Participate in multidisciplinary cross‐cultural health team and join on‐call roster at St Vincent's Mental Health.
* Engage in clinical supervision from on‐site consultant psychiatrists.
* Support extensive academic and educational program offered by St Vincent's Mental Health.
Qualifications
* Bachelor Medicine, Bachelor Surgery or equivalent.
* Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA or eligibility for general registration.
* Registration as a medication prescriber.
* Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain one.
