JD Built Byron Bay Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced subcontractor Formwork Carpenter to join our dynamic team in Byron Bay, NSW. As a Formwork Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in the construction process, responsible for building and installing the temporary structures that support and shape concrete during casting. This full‑time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of high‑quality projects in the beautiful Byron Bay region, working between Ballina and the Gold Coast.
What you’ll be doing
- Construct and install formwork structures, following detailed plans and specifications
- Ensure formwork is properly braced, aligned, and sealed to prevent concrete leakage
- Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate formwork installation and removal
- Maintain and repair formwork components as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards throughout the construction process
- Contribute to a positive and productive work workplace
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience as a Formwork Carpenter, with a strong understanding of construction techniques and standards
- Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in formwork carpentry
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and technical drawings
- Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking skills to address any challenges that arise
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
- Valid driver's licence, white card and reliable transportation
- Experience in concrete finishing and steel reinforcement
