Work Type: Fixed Term - Part Time (0.8 FTE)
Term: 9 months commencing Term 3, 2026
Location: Menzies, Goldfields Education Region

The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will assist teachers under their direction in delivering planned education programs and promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will support students in reaching their full potential by developing academic, social, emotional, and physical skills, assist with the operation of computers and digital technologies, provide feedback on education and therapy programs, and participate in the evaluation of special education goals.
Responsibilities
* Assist teachers in the delivery of planned education programs for students with special needs.
* Provide support and feedback on education and therapy programs.
* Participate in the evaluation process relating to achievement of goals in special education.
* Support student growth academically and socially within the classroom setting.
Qualifications & Skills
* High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff.
* Knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties.
* Ability to support student growth, both academically and socially.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
Eligibility
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
