You will be required to perform formwork, steel fixing and concreting works to a very high standard on a variety of projects, specifically pontoons that will have a trowel or broom deck finish. If you can't finish concrete by trowel or broom deck finish to a very high, commercial standard, then this job's not for you.
But we don't pour pontoons or abutments all day, every day, so when you are not doing concrete, we find other general labouring things for you to do. This might include carpeting / detailing pontoons, prepping abutment blocks, steel fixing for pontoons and abutment blocks, driving trucks, installing pontoons - whatever we have work wise
As an added bonus, we work a 4 day week, 6:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday with the ability to work Fridays for overtime.
Main responsibilities…
* Wrap pontoons, formwork, steel fixing and concrete work on pontoons
* Operate Plant and equipment within strict workplace health and safety guidelines
* Liaise with GCMarine management, suppliers and sub-contractors to co-ordinate onsite activities
* General labouring work as to whatever is required by us if no concreting work is scheduled
You will be or have…
* Previous experience in working with formwork, steel fixing and concrete
* Self-motivated with an excellent interpersonal and professional skillset
* Confidence and good communication with the ability to make informed business decision
* Ability to supervise staff and manage a small crew / team to efficient and productive
* C6 Crane / Manitou ticket/s and/or HR/HC/MC Truck license would beneficial but not essential
The most important requirement of the position is the ability to finish concrete to a very high standard.
