We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full‐time and part‐time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Are you a dedicated and passionate teacher who believes relationships are the foundation of learning?
Avonvale Primary School (PS) is seeking Primary Teachers to join our committed and caring team. We do things differently here, and it matters. Our work is grounded in healing‐centred, trauma‐informed practice through the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM), and we are guided by the belief that when the adults change, everything changes.
We are looking for teachers who will thrive in a culture of care, high expectations and reflection, and who see challenge as an opportunity for growth.
At Avonvale PS, we hold a clear expectation that adult behaviour sets the tone for everything. We know that how we show up—our consistency, language, tone, and emotional regulation—shapes the safety and success of our students.
We are seeking teachers who take personal responsibility for their impact and model calm, regulated, and compassionate behaviour, especially in moments of challenge. They understand that professional conduct is not defined by perfection but by reflection and the ability to repair. These educators engage openly in feedback and coaching, viewing growth as a shared and ongoing endeavour.
The Role
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
* Deliver high‐quality, explicit teaching using evidence‐informed practices.
* Create culturally responsive, engaging learning environments that reflect our community and Country.
* Embrace collaboration, curiosity, and continuous professional growth.
* Understand that student success is built upon adult consistency, care and regulation.
The ideal applicant is a passionate educator who believes that every child can learn and thrive. They should be committed to strong pedagogy, instructional clarity and continuous improvement, and approach their work as a reflective practitioner who actively engages in professional learning and coaching. They display kindness, resilience, and emotional intelligence, even under pressure, and contribute to a staff culture grounded in trust, humour and collective efficacy.
Both graduate and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply. We value passion and alignment with our approach as highly as experience.
Professional Benefits
* Attractive Country Teaching Program Allowance of $10 210 per year
* 12 percent employer contributions to superannuation
* 12 weeks' vacation leave (school holidays)
* More than 20 days of other leave, including sick leave and carers' leave
* Subsidised accommodation where applicable
* Free relocation
