Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
* Mentor and coach team members, including tech leads, helping them grow technically and professionally through feedback, career development plans, and tailored learning initiatives.
* Provide a clear strategic vision, ensuring teams work cohesively toward common goals.
* Contribute hands‐on where necessary, including technical design reviews, code reviews, and assisting in critical incident escalations to unblock the team.
* Establish delivery excellence practices, ensuring processes and workflows are effective, efficient, and scalable.
* Promote a culture that encourages learning from challenges, celebrates successes, and drives collective team achievement.
Qualifications
* Proven software engineering experience, with a strong foundation in building and delivering production systems.
* Proven track record of managing multiple squads of high‐performing engineering teams.
* Proven experience developing and executing strategic plans for engineering initiatives, aligning them with business objectives.
* Significant experience mentoring and coaching engineers and tech leads.
* Experience solving complex technical and organizational challenges.
* Solid understanding of scalable systems, modern development practices, and engineering best practices.
* Effective communicator who can collaborate seamlessly with leaders from other departments, ensuring alignment and effective execution of initiatives.
* Champion Engineering Excellence in one of Australia's fastest growing tech companies.
* Lead teams of Full‐Stack Engineers in a cloud‐native tech stack including AWS, Microservices, Large‐Scale Distributed Systems, K8's, Terraform, Typescript, Svelte, GraphQL, Nodejs and React.
