An opportunity is available for an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to join our dynamic team, based across our client sites on an 8 day on/6 day off roster. This is a FIFO field-based role that partners with operational leaders to manage EHS risk in the workplace through implementation of our EHS management systems and programs. Building a successful relationship with our customers is crucial in delivering a strong EHS culture in the field.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Influence, coach and partner with operational leaders and team members to encourage best practices and behaviours that are enabled, enhancing EHST outcomes and achieving overarching goals and objectives.
* Collaborate with EHST team members to develop and deliver agreed activities and results.
* Provide support with incident investigations, risk assessments, and project work.
* Demonstrate a cross-business culture of "One Team," delivering the best outcome for Boart Longyear and providing excellent functional support service.
* Foster ongoing positive relationships with all stakeholders and manage the relationship and interface with key business functions and clients to optimise benefits to the Company.
* Conduct deep dives on EHST data to analyze EHS information and identify/implement risk reduction opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Promote and utilize available technologies to improve EHST reporting and outcomes.
* Provide coaching and guidance on the management of EHST requirements and standards within Boart Longyear.
* Conduct and facilitate ICAM and 5‐Why incident investigations to identify failures and recommend corrective actions.
* Undertake projects and analysis to support best practice and opportunities for growth within the EHST realm.
Qualifications
* Relevant work experience in EHS.
* Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
* Experience working across the resource industry and related sectors.
* A proven ability to organize and manage competing demands and priorities.
* Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and initiate recommendations for improvement.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* A good proactive safety culture is a core part of the business, and successful candidates will need to meet the essential requirements of a pre‐employment medical.
