The University of Wollongong (UOW) is seeking an experienced and scholarly educational leader to join the Educational Innovation & Enablement (EIE) team as a Senior Lecturer, Teaching Excellence. This newly established role will provide academic leadership in advancing teaching excellence across the University through institution-wide initiatives, educator partnerships and future-focused approaches to teaching practice.
About the Role
Working within the Educational Excellence Division, the successful candidate will collaborate with educators, academic leaders and specialist teams to strengthen teaching quality, scholarly teaching practice and educator capability across diverse disciplinary contexts. The role will contribute to the design and renewal of teaching excellence initiatives, professional learning opportunities, peer review approaches and recognition pathways that support educators across career stages.
The Senior Lecturer will provide leadership in strengthening reflective and evidence-informed teaching practice, supporting innovation in pedagogy, curriculum and assessment, and fostering a connected culture of teaching excellence across the University. The position will also contribute scholarly insight and sector engagement to ensure UOW’s approaches to teaching excellence remain contemporary, credible and aligned with emerging developments in higher education.
About You
We are seeking an accomplished academic with a doctoral qualification and demonstrated expertise in higher education learning and teaching, including the scholarship of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will bring experience leading or shaping initiatives that strengthen teaching quality, educator capability or scholarly teaching practice, together with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion and enhancing the student experience.
