We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Executive Business Manager (EBM) to join our Executive Leadership Team and play a vital role in driving the College's long-term financial, operational and strategic success.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Principal, the Executive Business Manager is responsible for leading the College's financial planning, business strategy, governance and operational performance. This pivotal role is instrumental in ensuring sustainable growth, financial integrity and operational excellence across the College.
The EBM will provide strategic oversight of major projects, capital investments and risk management while also representing the College in high-level negotiations and external partnerships that align with our mission and values.
Leadership and Governance
- Champion the College's values of grace, integrity, respect and courage and uphold its Christian ethos.
- Provide high-level executive support to the Principal and College Board.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks including the Corporations Act and ACNC regulations in the capacity of Company Secretary.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic business policies and frameworks.
Financial and Operational Management
- Lead the College's long-term financial planning, budget processes and financial reporting.
- Manage the Finance, Facilities, ICT, Cleaning and Canteen teams with a focus on collaboration, innovation and performance.
- Oversee risk assessments, capital investment planning and major project execution.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across all business functions.
- Ensure compliance and best practice in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) systems.
Strategic Partnerships and Support
- Represent the College in external negotiations and foster strategic partnerships.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the Business Manager Operations.
- Support child safety commitments in alignment with relevant policies and legislation.
What You'll Bring
- Relevant tertiary financial qualifications and Working with Children check.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior financial, operational or business management role ideally within the education or not-for-profit sector.
- Proven leadership capability with a record of managing diverse teams and complex projects.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale capital works projects, new building developments and infrastructure planning.
- High-level strategic thinking, negotiation and communication skills.
- Commitment to upholding the Christian values and ethos of Good News Lutheran College.
