Kurri Kurri Hospital is a 26‐bed inpatient facility supporting the Lower Hunter community with a diverse caseload. The Physiotherapy team conducts an outpatient clinic covering musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, women's health and falls prevention.
About the role
As a Physiotherapist Level 3 you will provide care to inpatients on a medical ward, collaborating with the level 1/2 Physiotherapist, allied health team, medical, nursing and discharge planners to deliver compassionate, evidence‐based interventions. You will also provide an outpatient service that includes orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and women's health cases, and a falls group. Reporting to the Physiotherapy Head of Department at Maitland Hospital, you will document and raise any issues or concerns that arise within the department.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and treatment to inpatient medical ward patients.
* Collaborate with the level 1/2 Physiotherapist and inter‐disciplinary team to implement interventions.
* Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and family meetings to support patient care plans.
* Administer outpatient orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and women's health services, including a falls group.
* Support the level 1/2 Physiotherapist and report effectively to the department head.
* Maintain detailed clinical documentation and timely reporting of clinical concerns.
* Exhibit effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with patients, carers and the wider multi‐disciplinary team.
* Demonstrate competent time‐management and prioritisation of clinical duties.
Requirements
* Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
Eligibility Criteria
* Permanent employment is available only for Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or New Zealand citizens holding a current New Zealand passport.
* Temporary visa holders may be considered only if no suitable local candidate is identified and where the position is offered in line with visa conditions.
