About the Role
Protech is looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to perform project work at the Tanami Mine Site on an 8/6 FIFO basis.
Start date: June. 3–6 month work term, with potential for ongoing assignment.
Pay details: Hourly rate (depending on experience), super on all hours, weekly pay on Thursdays. This is a casual contractor position with flights from Darwin, Alice Springs, or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul of fixed plant equipment including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and processing infrastructure.
* Diagnose faults and conduct troubleshooting on mechanical systems.
* Follow site safety procedures, isolation, and permit systems.
* Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
Tickets & Experience Required
* At least 2 years of mining experience, maintenance of fixed plant, pumps, conveyors, etc. (essential).
* Valid Manual Driver's License.
* Ability to maintain fitness for work, pass a pre‐employment medical and drug and alcohol testing.
* Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
* Valid and contactable references.
* Strong understanding and adherence to OHS.
