The School contributes to UniSQ's vision by preparing graduates to support and enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Underpinned by work-integrated learning and applied research, we equip graduates with the skills to make a meaningful impact in diverse health settings. As the School grows, we are seeking passionate, innovative and energetic educators and researchers to join us in building a better future for our communities.

Step into a leadership role where your expertise in Speech Pathology shapes the future of the profession. You will join a collaborative, student-centred academic community committed to excellence in teaching, research and clinical education. This is your opportunity to influence curriculum design, mentor emerging clinicians and researchers, and contribute to a program closely connected to industry and community needs.

Who you are

You're a passionate academic and clinical leader who is driven to shape the future of Speech Pathology education. In this role, you'll lead high quality teaching, curriculum innovation and practice education, while mentoring students and early career academics to build confident, capable, practice-ready graduates.

You'll contribute to impactful research and scholarly activity, strengthen industry and community partnerships, and help enhance the profile and reputation of Speech Pathology. Your collaborative approach, initiative, and commitment to evidence-based, student-centred learning will underpin your impact across teaching, research and engagement.

What you'll do

In this senior academic role, you'll deliver engaging, evidence-informed teaching using contemporary digital learning approaches that prepare students for modern clinical practice. You'll lead and contribute to curriculum development, course coordination and program enhancement activities that strengthen the quality and reputation of the Speech Pathology program.

You'll drive research aligned with UniSQ's strengths, produce quality research outputs and pursue external funding opportunities. You'll supervise Honours and higher degree by research students, guiding them toward successful and timely completion while fostering a supportive, research-active culture. Your leadership will extend beyond the University as you build partnerships with industry, government and professional bodies, elevating the program's community impact and ensuring graduates are well-prepared for evolving professional needs.

This is a role where your expertise and initiative will make a visible difference to students, colleagues, and the future direction of Speech Pathology at UniSQ.

What will help you succeed

You'll bring a doctoral qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for professional membership, along with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality education.

You'll have experience teaching in higher education or leading clinical education, and an established track record of research aligned with your level of appointment. Experience supervising Honours or HDR students, contributing to curriculum design, or leading collaborative projects will strengthen your success in this role.

You'll thrive if you're an effective communicator who builds positive relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners. A passion for advancing the profession, a collaborative mindset and a readiness to contribute to research, engagement and program leadership will help you make a meaningful impact. Most importantly, you bring enthusiasm for shaping the next generation of speech pathology professionals and a commitment to inclusive, student-centred learning.
