Geotechnical Engineer - Operations and Projects
Job Description:
As a senior geotechnical engineer, you will play a key role in supporting both open pit and underground operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the integrity of pit slopes, waste rock dumps, tailings, and water storage facilities.
You will lead inspections, contribute to ground control strategies, and manage geotechnical projects from concept to completion. This position requires your commitment to continuous improvement and mentoring others to foster a culture of safety, excellence, accountability, and respect.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* tertiary qualification in mining, geoscience, civil engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on geomechanics
* minimum 7 years' geotechnical experience
* proven supervisory experience in operations, technical services, or project management
* strong understanding of safety systems, geotechnical controls, and open pit operations
* solid knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements
* advanced user of geotechnical modeling and CAD software
